In the juniors judo program, students concentrate on the basic mechanics of standing judo techniques. They will begin the practice of a subset of techniques from the standard syllabus of judo, making progress towards belt promotion. Students will begin learning basic judo terms and concepts to be used at practice, tournaments, and throughout the judo community; as well as to serve as a primer for advanced education in judo. More complex games and situational drills will be part of the daily workout plan. Students will continue to exercise safe falling techniques to minimize the risk of concussion and other injuries, as well as practice judo's moral code for constructive character development.
